It all starts with a dream. That’s how I got started and most likely where you find yourself right now. The poorest man is not without a cent, but without a dream. So dreams are very important. They are the fuel that can take you where you want to go.

Perhaps like I once did, you have people in your life who are telling you to give up on your dreams. I need do nothing more than simply look back on my own life to a time when I had to stretch a can of chicken noodle soup for four days just to eat, to know what a difference dreams can make.

I also recall very vividly many of my family and friends telling me to stop chasing a dream and to settle down and get a real job. Well, I refused to listen to them and today they are amazed at just how far I’ve come. If I had listened to them I would be where they still are today instead of where I am.

Back then I was living here in this little 800 square foot duplex apartment. I hated it with a passion. I was embarrassed and ashamed by it. My furniture was all busted up and much of it came from the flea market or the Goodwill store. I was so ashamed of where I lived that I would try my best to meet family and friends out at various places just to avoid the awkwardness of having to invite them into my apartment.

I turned one of the small bedrooms into my office. It’s funny now looking back on it because the walk-in closet in our master bedroom suite is about the size of my old bedroom office. Things sure have changed.

Today we’ve got nine foot ceilings and big screen TVs around the house. My wife actually thinks it’s sort of crazy that we’ve got two TVs in the master bedroom and one mounted on the wall in the garage, master bath and in even in the laundry room! What can I say. Sometimes you wanna watch TV and multi-task! : )

I’ll never forget the day I walked into the Lexus dealership and wrote a personal check for a Lexus. It was an awesome day. The experience taught me it was okay to reward yourself for dedication and hard work. I don’t care what anybody says, there simply isn’t any substitute for working hard. Real success is earned it’s not handed to you. That’s not to say that you cant discover how to work smarter because you can and I will help you to make this discovery so that you can change your own life as I have mine. Always remember this, your life is exactly what you make it, good or bad.

Over the years there have been countless times that have stood out in my mind as marked moments for me. One such time was when John (the builder) approached me to demand a $10,000. expense deposit and he gave me a week to come up with the money. Without skipping a beat I replied “would in the morning be soon enough or would you like me to get the cash for you within the hour?’ The look on John’s face was priceless and I felt tremendously blessed to be able to have the resources to make it happen.

There are still times that I drive by that little duplex apartment where I spent so many days and nights dreaming of a better life. And it brings to me both a real sense of accomplishment as well as a prideful existence of knowing I did it despite those in my life who said I couldn’t make it. I accomplished something that today I realize is within just about every one’s reach if they will simply start with their dream and take real action to work toward their goals.

I remember one day a friend dropped by and as he walked into my office he noticed a dry erase board hanging on the wall. He asked me about it and I told him it was the layout of how my home office would one day look once I made it. The drawing was very detailed. I included things such as where my computers would be lined up beside each other, the counter tops that would extend along the walls to hold them and so on. I thought about it often. At the time I didn’t realize that I was actually manifesting these things into my life and attracting the lifestyle I live today.

You should have seen the look on his face the day I invited him over to see my office inside my new custom built 6,000 square foot, half million dollar mansion. It was priceless. In fact he even commented how my office was so huge that I could easily fit my old apartment into it. He was right. My new office is 1,400 square feet. I could almost fit two of them into it!

And of course I pointed out to my friend how the counter tops extend along the walls and hold several computers etc. just like on my dry erase board where I visualized it for so long back in that little apartment. The point here is that I first had to visualize my dreams and know exactly what I wanted and where I wanted to take my life. I had to refuse to settle for less than I knew I could have and rightfully deserved. You need to take a personal inventory and do the very same thing. You need to get really clear about where you are and where you want to go.

One day I got a telephone call that ultimately would change my life forever. Jim sponsored me into a program that enabled me to generate $7,000. my first week. I was amazed and skeptical. Excited and yet grounded. However after a few months I realized I didn’t need to be pinched because it was very real and I was wide awake! I wasn’t in a dream. I was living my dream. I was making great money and was well on my way. And let me tell you something, if I could bottle this feeling I would be a zillionaire.

You may have seen me on a nationally televised “Making Money” infomercial several years ago. I had purchased a course from the very same infomercial and implemented some of the strategies I learned from it. I was invited to be a guest because of my success and they invited me to be a guest of the show. The lesson I learned from this experience is simple. Strategies don’t work unless you implement them. This is also when I coined the phrase “you can make money or you can make excuses, however you can’t make both effectively at the same time”.

Without boring you with my whole life story I’ll just say that I don’t know very many people who have struggled through adversity and who have overcome the kinds of obstacles as I have who still made it. This simply says to me that if I can do it so can you. I firmly believe in what I’m doing and that I have something of real value to offer those I mentor.

I walked away from a 14 year carer as a private investigator to pursue my dream of working in my own home based business. It would prove to be one of the smartest life changing decisions I would ever make. I became a millionaire as a direct result and I’ve never looked back unless it is to reflect on just how far I’ve come and how truly blessed and thankful for where I am today.

I remember how my family and friends tried really hard to talk me out of my dreams. They said I had it made. I was earning $60. an hour as a PI. However I simply wasn’t satisfied. I knew I could do better with my life. I knew there was something more out there for me. So I made the decision to become totally committed to being an Internet marketer. I had already been selling a few products through direct mail on a part time basis and it had got to the point where I was literally forced into choosing one or the other. Doing both was killing me. It was robbing me of a social life and all my time was spent doing one or the other, often both!

I knew it was time. I had worked really hard to figure out what worked and God knows that I had tried lots of things that didn’t. So I felt like I was in a great place and that it was now or never to really go for it and dedicate myself full time to my dreams.

So let’s fast forward a bit to the morning I woke up and said to my wife “I believe I want to buy a Hummer.” Now you should understand that by now my wife knows that once I get something in my head I act upon it. I take real action and I make it happen. First I went to the Hummer website and played around with their custom designer tool. I picked the color, the executive chrome package, DVD players etc. I also visited my local dealership where I negotiated the price of $65,000. Now for a country boy from Carolina to spend this kind of money on a vehicle was a bit out there even for me. However I knew I could turn in into an investment and that it would make for a very effective marketing tool.

The next morning I took out a legal pad and across the top of the page I wrote $65,000. Next as I generated money I subtracted the amount I generated from the total on the page. I continued to do this for nine days. Then on the morning of the tenth day I crossed the last number off and drew a big fat zero on the bottom of the page. I had generated the money I needed to buy my brand new Hummer in less than 10 days! It was awesome.

Today I treat every purchase the same way. I simply take action and implement the things I’ve learned over the years and apply proven strategies to generate the money I need to buy them. I will show you how to do the same thing.

99% of the time you are given a website and told it is ready to take orders. This alone does nothing to help you have real success. Making serious money requires a very specific set of criteria.

Here’s what I know about making really serious money.

1. You absolutely must have a good compensation plan.

2. You must have good marketing tools to help you generate leads and do effective follow up etc.

3. You must embrace technology and automation.

4. You must change your mindset and think like a millionaire in order to become one.

5. You must be willing to do the things most people aren’t willing to do in order to have the success most never will.

6. You must be coachable.

7. You must be totally committed to success.

8. You must advertise and market yourself and your business consistently.

9. You must do something every day to move yourself closer to your goals.

10. You must refuse to give up or accept defeat in any form.

If you will do these things you will realize your dreams and become truly successful.
